I am Audrey Meyer, Dare-2-Fly School Manager
in Cabarete, Dominican Republic. I have been riding since
5 years. I am riding mostly at Kitebeach Cabarete and I call
it “my home spot”. Cabarete is one of the best
places for kiteboarding in the world. It is where I am having
a blast with my buddies in the water. I love kiteboarding
and want to share my passion with other people.

Dominican Republic has lots of different
spots on the North Cost. The most well-known spot attracting
the majorities of kite boarder is Kitebeach, Cabarete.
There are different other places though that are as
good or even nicer to ride (Encuentro, La Boca, Police
Station....).But Kitebeach, Cabarete is home to a wide
variety of incredible kitesurfing. It also offers really
nice accommodation with kite schools, hotels, restaurants,
bar, pool, parking .Kitebeach has quickly become a popular
venue with the best kiteboarders from all over the world
with a really good riding level. Sport events, including
the Cabarete Kiteboarding World Cup (PKRA) and the Red
Bull Master of the Ocean event, draw world-class riders,
as well as thousands of spectators, to Cabarete.The
surfing-kitesurfing-windsurfing market is big in Cabarete.
But they are not many shops with cool surfing clothes
besides our KC Shop with the Kite chick clothes. The
Cabarete KC market is getting bigger especially since
the opening of the KC Shop at Kitebeach. |
I have chosen to promote Kite Chicks because
I believe in this brand and its future. I am proud to be a
KC team rider because I love the full idea behind the concept:”
kick ass and look good!!”.
My goal for the next year is to promote the sport and the
company even more by helping in the development and advertising.
I would like that people who are watching me think:”
She looks good. I wanna look like her!!!”
The feed-back about my clothes was and is always very good.
People like them. And God (and Petra) know how often I wear
them. I have to say, I have never had a board short that lasted
so long my KC shorts!!! I did the “wear out test”
on nearly all of the KC first collection and I have NOTHING
to complain!
Well KITE CHICKS has been for one year in Cabarete now and
I see the brand having more and more weight and getting big
like a huge surf clothes company. I love the KC clothes because
they are really comfortable while kiting. I also really like
the bright colors and the cute cut that make us look sportive
and fit. I am taking care about how I look like. I did lots
of “guys” sports during all my life. The reason
people called it “guy sport” is because the girls
were looking like guys. Same buggy pants and strait, unsexy
shirt. No clothes differentiating. Sounds like the only way
to do a sport was to look like a guy! But girls are still
girls: Sexy, fit, sportive and girls. I love the full KC idea:
“KICKING ASS AND LOOKING GOOD” nothing else could
say it better. And on the top of it, the clothes are super
comfortable. So what more to ask?
Something I do not like? Hum...Girls wearing men board short!!!
CONGRATULATION TO THE KITE CHICK ...you make us look great!
....that is just the beginning of a big name!!!!!
